The primary target audience for this activity is Oncology Nursing Professionals (APRN, NP, RN).
STATEMENT OF NEED/PROGRAM OVERVIEW
For women with breast cancer and those at risk, disparities in screening and clinical-trial enrollment exist, particularly among racial and ethnic minority populations. Awareness of these disparities can ensure timely screening practices and help address patient fears and concerns regarding clinical trials that inhibit diverse representation in research. Younger women should be educated on their higher risk for aggressive breast cancer subtypes and empowered to get regular screenings that can aid early detection.
Join an expert panel as they discuss how to reduce disparities and increase equity in clinical trial enrollment. Panelists will also highlight the importance of regular screening for breast cancer and share strategies to provide patients with support, education, and resources to make informed decisions on these topics.
